iParking was initially conceived as a major construction project in Shanghai. The parking facility is equipped with sensors embedded both underground and in the ceilings of each floor. The concept is to streamline parking and car retrieval through the iParking app, requiring all drivers to sign up. The app and hardware were developed collaboratively by engineering teams in Taipei and Shanghai, fostering a strong partnership. iParking is more than just an app; it’s a step towards smarter urban living. By integrating advanced technology with user-centric design, we aim to revolutionize parking management and contribute to greener, more efficient cities.

With iParking, finding a parking spot and retrieving your car becomes a hassle-free experience, allowing you to focus on more important aspects of your day.

Aerial View and Flat Design /

iParking is designed to help drivers locate their cars among thousands of vehicles with precision. The user interface is based on an aerial view, providing a clear perspective from above. To enhance this visual, we incorporated shadow effects to add dimension. The flat design approach was chosen to balance aesthetic appeal with functionality.

Environmental Considerations /

A significant challenge was working within the constraints of a fixed color scheme for the map, which could not be altered even with CSS adjustments. Despite these limitations, we embraced a green theme, though it restricted our color palette options.

Real-Time Processing /

The iParking app connects to sensors embedded in each parking space. Upon entering the parking facility, the car’s license plate is scanned, and the information is relayed to the appropriate sensor. This process, driven by an advanced algorithm, occurs in a fraction of a second, ensuring efficient parking and retrieval.

Scalable Map Interface /

Successful car retrieval depends on the strength of the connection and internet speed. The app's interface allows users to zoom in and out on the map to locate their car precisely, using familiar pinch-to-zoom gestures. The design balance between graphics and text was informed by usability testing, ensuring a user-friendly experience.

Simplicity and Efficiency /

Our goal was to create an intuitive app that simplifies the parking experience. The complex algorithms operate behind the scenes, providing users with a straightforward, efficient tool that enhances their lifestyle by saving time and reducing stress.
